Dylan Westbrook Earns Podium Finish At I-96 Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (May 12, 2021) Working the low side of the I-96 Speedway against the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network and Great Lake Super Sprints, Canada’s Dylan Westbrook made up nine positions on Saturday night for his fourth podium finish of the 2021 season.
Using cautions to some advantage, Dylan’s key to success was patience around the bottom of the three-eighths-mile oval. Nearly taking second on the closing lap, when Blake Hahn slipped over the cushion, Dylan kept true to his line and raced the big picture.
“The whole night for me was just sticking the bottom. Once I got rolling, the car felt good and lapped traffic kind of helped and hurt me, but I just kept focusing on hitting my marks, and it worked out for us.”
On seeing the No. 52 go over the cushion, Westbrook commented on the opening.
“I saw Blake go over, and I thought I had a shot at second, but I didn’t want to push it too hard and sacrifice points. If I had some more laps, I probably would have, but it’s about the big picture.”
Bettering himself to fourth in tour standings, Westbrook will try to climb through the ranks this Saturday, May 15, at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

Dylan Westbrook is a part of the Canadian-based Hills Racing Team. The 2021 season marks the 17th year of racing for Dylan Westbrook. Starting with Dirt Bikes and Go-Karts at age five, Dylan has been behind the wheel of a Sprint Car for seven years. Four championships as Ohsweken Speedway since 2015, Westbrook made the jump to the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network in 2020, earning the Brodix National Rookie of the Year.
