ASCS Southwest Readying For 2017 Season

TULSA, Okla. (January 17, 2017) The Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region is readying for the 2017 season with 17 dates confirmed and another three to five in the works as tracks across Arizona and New Mexico finalize their schedules.

As of now, Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. is slated to host the ASCS Southwest Region seven nights, including the 2017 season opener on Saturday, March 11. From there, single night shows can be found in April, May, June, and September. The only two-day lineup at the Queen Creek oval comes at the 2017 season finale with the Copper Classic on Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25

Central Arizona Speedway, located just east of the Phoenix metropolitan area, will see action twice on March 25 and September 30

The third facility currently on the ASCS Southwest lineup is the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M. with four nights in the lineup. All a part of two-day events, the series will drop in on March 31 through April 1 before returning on July 28 and 29.

Slated to re-open in 2017 under the name Wildcat Raceway, the former USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz. will be a part of the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network lineup on November 3 and 4. The pairing of the Regional and National Tour continues the following week at the Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz. on November 10 and 11.

Dates at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. are currently being negotiated and will be added as soon as the details are finalized.

The 2017 season for the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region is the 10th year of competition for the Arizona based series. To date, New Mexico’s Rick Ziehl stands undefeated as a nine time ASCS Southwest Regional champion.
