Reutzel Takes Lucas Oil ASCS Points Lead to Moberly

Lonnie Wheatley, CLUTE, Texas (April 16, 2015) – After an idle weekend, Aaron Reutzel takes his Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour points lead to Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, MO, this Saturday night.

Saturday’s card at Randolph County Speedway is the first time for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour atop the high-banked, ½-mile clay oval and is Reutzel’s first visit to the Moberly facility as well.

That could bode well for the Clute, TX, racer and the Shark-powered BC Fundz/Basic One Services No. 87 Triple X Sprint Car team that has developed a habit of putting together strong performances at new venues.

Already this year, Reutzel and the Wren Motorsports/Momentum Racing Suspensions team have visited a pair of tracks in Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition for the first time and come away with triumphs at East Bay Raceway and Bubba Raceway Park in Florida.

It’s a trend Reutzel and the Dissolvealloy Frac Ball Revolution crew began last season with an ASCS National score in his first visit to Outlaw Motor Speedway and an NCRA triumph in his 81 Speedway debut in Wichita.

“We’ve got a good little trend going with going to tracks for the first time, hopefully it’s something we can continue this weekend,” the driver of the Danny Sander Construction/ButlerBuilt entry said.

If a little bit of pre-race investigation proves accurate, the Randolph County Raceway oval could just prove to be to Reutzel’s liking.

“I talked to a couple of guys that have done well there and they both told me pretty much the same thing, it sounds like it usually gets pretty wide for the feature so I’m really looking forward to racing there,” Reutzel said.

Reutzel and the Lone Star Hydro Maintenance/Wright Way Logistics team come off an idle weekend after going for two-for-two the previous weekend to run the early season win total to six.

“It was a good weekend to get caught up on things and get a lot of work done that you’re sometimes pressed to get done later, things really start to pick up from here,” Reutzel explained.

Indeed they do, with Aaron Reutzel’s World of Outlaws debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, next weekend and then two more weekends of Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour action on tap after Saturday’s ASCS card at Moberly.

Reutzel’s bid for the $60,000 Lucas Oil National championship has started in the strongest of forms with a pair of wins in the opening four events to open up an early advantage over his top competitors.

2015 Quick Stats: 18 races, 6 wins, 13 top-fives, 13 top-tens.
