TULSA, Okla. (September 29, 2014) This week's look at the action of the ASCS Nation focuses on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour's co-sanctioned weekend with the Speedway Motors Warrior Region at the Lucas Oil Speedway, as well as the Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region's season finale at the Battleground Speedway. Overall, three races in two nights took place with just as many winners.

While the National Tour goes on into the month of November, the Gulf South and Warrior Region both wrapped up their 2014 seasons this past week.

The Winners:

Friday, September 26, 2014

• Tim Crawley (National / Warrior) - The three time Lucas Oil ASCS National Champion picked up his third career victory at the Lucas Oil Speedway in the Mike Ward owned No. 88. Crawley led start to finish for the preliminary night win.

Saturday, September 27, 2014

• Derek Hagar (National / Warrior) - Hagar's second National Tour victory of 2014; it was the Arkansas shoe's first at the Lucas Oil Speedway. With the victory by the Little Rock regular, it marked back-to-back wins for Arkansas drivers in Missouri.

• Channin Tankersley (Gulf South) - One last go round for the Gulf South Region saw Channin Tankersley end on a perfect note to clinch his first ASCS Regional title. The victory was Tankersley's second on the season.

News and Notes:

• The Hockett/McMillin Memorial - Overall, 50 Lucas Oil ASCS drivers took part in the fourth annual Jesse Hockett / Daniel McMillin Memorial with a pair of Arkansas drivers taking home victory. The weekend also saw the Impact Signs WAR Sprint Cars in action with Wyatt Burks winning Friday and Casey Shuman wheeling the Hockett Racing No. 77 to victory on Saturday night.

• Near Sweep - Derek Hagar's win on Saturday night with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour was nearly followed by a victory in with the WAR Sprint Cars. Battling with Shuman in the final laps, Hagar ended up second after contact with the wall bent part of the rear suspension.

• Brandon Berryman - During Saturday's feature event at the Battleground Speedway, Brandon Berryman went for a ride that ultimately sent the driver of the No. 31 to the hospital with an injury to his spine. Brandon was scheduled for surgery on Monday. Everyone with the American Sprint Car Series prays for a speedy recovery.

• Rain Delay - Saturday night at Battleground almost wasn't as rain almost forced officials to call off the night's A-Feature. Over an hour working the track back in saw the checkered flag finally fall for Channin Tankersley.

• Jonathan Cornell - The driver from Sedalia, Mo. captured his third consecutive championship with the Speedway Motors Warrior Region this past weekend. Interviewed following Saturday's feature, Cornell admitted he really had no intention of chasing points, but a roll of consecutive victories in July and August put him in the running, and ultimately in the lead.

• Pair of Podiums - Sam Hafertepe, Jr. recorded a pair of podiums over the weekend, bringing his season total with the National Tour to nine. Rebounding out of a pair of DNF's at the I-80 Speedway, Sam is once again within striking distance of a championship, sitting tied with Jeff Swindell for fourth only 74 points back from Brad Loyet.

• MAVTV - The Hockett/McMillin Memorial was filmed by MAVTV this past weekend. Friday's preliminary night is scheduled to show on Saturday, November 1. The finale is scheduled to air on Saturday, November 8. Dates are subject to change without notice, and can be checked at http://www.mavtv.com.
