Michael McNeil currently sits third in series standings with Travis Elliot and Greg Rilat rounding out the top five in regional points.

Sprints on Dirt

Looking like a dry weekend, the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP will make two appearances starting with a return to Cherry Speedway in Fife Lake, MI on Friday July 20th followed by Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, MI on Saturday July 21st. After rains washed out the series’ first show of the season at Cherry Speedway, the Sprints on Dirt will see a forecast with no rain for Friday night’s event.

Saturday will see the series’ first visit to Crystal Motor Speedway in 2012 with forecasts also favorable to racing.

Currently at the front of the pack, Gregg Dalman holds a 78 point lead over Brett Mann with each earning one win so far this season. Ryan Grubaugh currently holds third with Ryan Ruhl and Jared Horstman rounding out the top five in points.

Warrior

After pairing with the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region this past weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will see three nights of stand-alone events this weekend with the series’ first visit of the year to Montgomery Co. Speedway in Friday July 20th followed by the regions fourth visit to LA Raceway on Saturday July 21st. Capping off the weekend’s events will be a Sunday visit to XX Speedway in California, Missouri.

ASCS 305

With shows slowly but surely being added in the series inaugural season, the ASCS 305 points hunt will head next to the west Texas town of El Paso for a Friday night showing at the El Paso Speedway Park before heading west on I-10 to the Southern New Mexico Speedway on Saturday July 21st.

El Paso’s John Carney II currently leads the point standings over longtime rival Kyle McCutcheon and Texas hot shoe Derek Drown. With only 50 points separating the top three, each driver has found victory in 2012. Carney currently has three, including the series opening $5,000 victory at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. Derek Drown has earned a pair of wins with Kyle McCutcheon being the most recent winner with a last lap pass at White Sands Speedway on June 30th.

The 2012 season marks the 21st year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, which brings the best of Sprint Car racing to dozens of different tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
