    ASCS Midwest at I-80 Speedway on Friday!
    Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 30, 2010) – This coming Labor Day Holiday weekend kicks off with the American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region taking to Nebraska Raceway Park’s I-80 Speedway on Friday night.

    Friday’s card atop the 4/10-mile dirt oval marks one last tune up opportunity prior to the Nebraska Cup weekend on September 10-12 that includes events at Warrensburg, MO, McCool Junction, NE, and then Eagle, NE.

    Friday’s card marks the fifth night of ASCS Midwest action at I-80 Speedway, where the series will finish off the 2010 season with championship night on September 24.

    Thus far, four different drivers have reached ASCS Midwest victory lane in as many events at I-80 in 2010, with Dustin Morgan, Jack Dover, Shane Stewart and Brian Brown each collecting Greenwood cash.

    Eric Lutz of Sioux Falls, SD, leads the way in the ASCS Midwest title chase entering Friday’s action with a 221-point edge over Waverly, Nebraska’s Doug Lovegrove. Jack Dover, Tyler Drueke and defending ASCS Midwest champ Jason Danley round out the current top five in points, with the rest of the top ten including Lee Grosz, Brian Brown, Gage Dorr, Chad Humston and Ryan Roberts.

    Friday’s action at I-80 Speedway fires off at 7:00 p.m.

    Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway is located in Greenwood, NE, between Lincoln and Omaha off I-80 Exit 420, then 0.4 mile north on SR 63 then west. For more information, contact the track at 402-342-3453.

    The ASCS Midwest Region has completed 15 nights of competition in 2010 at seven different tracks throughout Nebraska and the surrounding areas of Missouri, South Dakota and Iowa, with just five nights of competition remaining.

    In its 19th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing, the American Sprint Car Series brings the best of Sprint Car racing to approximately 100 different tracks throughout 30 states and Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.

    ASCS Midwest Ready for Big 2010 Season
    Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 29, 2010) – Continuing to gain momentum as the new decade dawns, the American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region is gearing up for an ambitious 2010 slate of 24 events.

    The fifth season of racing action in Nebraska and the surrounding areas currently consists of 24 nights of competition at ten different tracks.

    Fourteen of the series’ scheduled events are in Cornhusker territory, with another half-dozen in Missouri, three in South Dakota and one in Iowa.

    The ASCS Midwest Region kicks off the 2010 season with the annual two-night stand versus the ASCS Northern Plains Region at Nebraska Raceway Park’s I-80 Speedway on April 9-10.

    Greenwood’s I-80 Speedway will host the ASCS Midwest Region for a total of seven nights in 2010, including the season-ending double on September 24-25.

    Other Nebraska venues for the ASCS Midwest Region include Eagle Raceway, where the Midwest forces take on the Lucas Oil National Sprint Car Series on June 11-12 before returning for the Nebraska Cup on September 12.

    The series will also take to McCool Junction’s Junction Motor Speedway on a pair of occasions, with single stop at Rising City’s Butler County Motorplex and Albion’s Boone County Raceway.

    Boone County is one of three new stops for the ASCS Midwest Region in 2010, with the series also breaking new ground at a pair of Missouri dirt ovals including Warrensburg’s Central Missouri Speedway and Wheatland’s Lucas Oil Speedway.

    Other Show Me State events include three stops atop the lightning-fast, high banks of Cameron’s U.S. 36 Raceway.

    The series also ventures north to Hartford, South Dakota’s I-90 Speedway on three occasions, including a July 10 card in tandem with the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series one night after the Arnold Motor Supply Shootout in Spencer, IA.

    Nebraska’s Jason Danley became the first driver in ASCS history to capture two different Regional titles in the same year by topping both the ASCS Midwest and ASCS Northern Plains point charts in 2009.

    Danley Doubles Up with Two 2009 Titles
    TULSA, Okla. (December 26, 2009) - Lincoln, Nebraska's Jason Danley made some history in 2009 by becoming the first driver to capture two different ASCS Regional championships in the same year by topping both the ASCS Midwest and ASCS Northern Plains point charts.

    Danley finished among the top-ten in eight of 13 ASCS Midwest feature events, becoming the fifth different ASCS Midwest champion in as many years by taking the title with a 64-point margin over Chad Humston, who cracked victory lane a series' best three times in 2009.

    Six of the Midwest events were run in conjunction with the Northern Plains Region, with Danley edging Sioux Falls, South Dakota's Eric Lutz by 33 points for top honors. Lutz has competed in all 51 ASCS Northern Plains events contested since 2006.
