Bio Notes and Stats: The third-generation racer from Norman, OK, has been a force since breaking onto the ASCS scene in 1997, a year after winning the first of five State Fair Speedway championships in Oklahoma City.
While staying closer to home for the most part in recent years, Danny Jennings' early ASCS exploits included a Rookie of the Year effort with the National Tour in 1997 that netted a ranking of fourth in points, followed by a National Tour ranking of third in 1998.
When the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region fired off in 2001, Danny immediately established himself as a top Sooner contender by finishing among the top two in points on four different occasions from 2001 to 2005.
Danny earned the ASCS Sooner Region title in 2002, just missing out on a second championship with runner-up finishes in 2001, 2003 and 2005. Danny also ranked eighth in '04 Sooner Region points despite missing several events as he raced to a fourth-place ranking in Sprint Bandits points.
Overall, Danny is tied for first in career ASCS Sooner Region feature starts (78), recording nine wins, 36 top-fives and 58 top-tens, with his most recent win coming during the '07 season at Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway on August 17.
In National Tour competition, Danny has accumulated 144 career feature starts, posting seven wins, 33 top-fives and 79 top-tens. Four of his National Tour wins came during the 2005 season, when he swept the Devil's Bowl Speedway Spring Nationals to kick off the season then later topped the Devil's Bowl leg of ASCS Speedweek along with a Dodge City triumph.
Danny will be back to compete in a selected mix of National Tour and Sooner Region events in 2008.
