Bio Notes and Stats: Ready for his third year of Sprint Car racing, Todd Johnson has his sights set on the ASCS Gulf South Region championship in 2004.
After enjoying some success in winged modifieds throughout the Louisiana area, Todd made the transition to Sprint Cars when the ASCS Gulf South Region was originated in 2002.
Todd raced to a strong second place finish in Gulf South points in 2002, then was in the thick of the championship points battle in 2003 until mechanical problems en route to the Sooner vs. Gulf South Regional Shootout at Devil’s Bowl Speedway forced him to miss the event. Despite the unplanned absence, Todd still managed a fifth place finish in final 2003 Gulf South Region points.
After closing out the 2003 year with a season-best second place finish in Gulf South action at Many (LA) Motor Speedway, Todd will be searching for his first career ASCS Gulf South Region feature triumph this year as well as the series title.
